The University of Alabama

iTour Bama Help - FAQ

What is iTour Bama?

iTour Bama is a flexible video campus tour of The University of Alabama. It is designed to be viewed in several different environments:

You can watch it online as a Flash-based video.

You can download the tour to iTunes and then put it on your iPod. From there you can watch the video on the iPod or bring your iPod to campus and use the video on it as your tour guide as you walk around campus.

If you don't have an iPod, you can reserve one of ours. After you complete the request form, wait for us to send you an e-mail confirmation that the time you chose will work. On the appointed day, you'll come to campus, pick up the iPod, and carry it around campus as your guide.

How long does iTour Bama last?

The video tour itself is approximately 25 minutes. If you are walking the tour with an iPod, you will probably want to pause or stop from time to time so the tour can run longer based on you own explorations.

Please note that if you have checked out an iPod from Undergraduate Admissions, you will need to bring the iPod back at the end of your time slot (8-9:30 a.m., 10-11:30 a.m., or 2-3:30 p.m.).

Will iTour Bama work on any iPod or other portable media device?

iTour Bama is an iPod video tour, so you will need an iPod with video capability.

Can I reserve a UA iPod on the weekend?

At this time, UA iPods can only be reserved on weekdays. However, if you are bringing your own iPod with iTour Bama loaded on it, you are welcome to tour during the weekend.

Can I use iTour Bama on my iPhone?

Yes! Just download the iTour Bama podcast in iTunes as you would with a standard video iPod.
